Aim-TTi has introduced the CPX200/400 Models

 

 

The CPX series is a different type of laboratory power supply designed to meet the need for flexibility in the choice of voltage and current. A conventional PSU has a fixed current limit giving a power capability that reduces directly with the output voltage. The Aim-TTi PowerFlex design of the CPX series enables higher currents to be generated at lower voltages within an overall power limit envelope. Each output can provide considerably higher current than a conventional PSU of the same maximum voltage and power. Example voltage & current combinations for the CPX400D include 60V/7A, 42V/10A, 28V/15A, and 20V/20A.

The CPX400 series, now comprising five models, was developed from the CPX400A - one of the most successful power supplies ever.

As technology has changed, many products have moved from analog controls to digital ones. Although digital controls suit many instruments, they do not necessarily suit a bench power supply.

Customer research shows that many users prefer the speed and simplicity of conventional analog controls for setting voltage and current. Digital controls may offer greater precision, but often at the expense of ease-of-use. With this in mind, the CPX400 series retains the true analog controls of its predecessor.

AXON comes with new 1-channel telemetry with additional inductive power monitoring

 

 

 

As in conventional single-channel telemetry systems, the verification of inductive energy reserves on the Rotor Unit was very difficult or even impossible, the J1DB-system transmits on a separate channel the value of the inductively coupled voltage of the Rotor Unit. The Control Unit has two voltage outputs: Channel 1 supplies the strain gauge based measurement data as a ±10V analogue voltage. Channel 2 supplies continuously the inductive supplied power on the Rotor Unit with a factor of 1:3 as an analogue voltage.
Thus, the quality of the inductive power transfer can be monitored after installation of the measurement shafts during the measurement process. Changes in the supplied voltage, e.g., due to operational axially or radially shaft displacement the voltage value can be observed and evaluated by dynamic transmission of its value.
The Rotor Units are available as chip version in aluminum housing as well as a flexible printed circuit board. With a temperature range of -40 °C. .. +140 °C in continuous operation (without thermal enclosure), the J1DB can be operated in almost any situation.

Transmille recently introduced the Ultra-Compact Multi-Product Calibrator 1000 Series

 

 

Transmille has introduced the new Ultra-Portable 1000 Series Multi-Product Calibrator. Transmille is a supplier of all kind hard- and software in calibration solutions.

The 1000 Series calibrators is not only very accurate (80 ppm), versatile and cost effective, but also very compact and portable (9.2kg), so that you are able to do almost every calibration on almost every location at a low cost of ownership. Voltages to 1000V, currents up to 10Amp (500Amp with coil), resistances to 100MOhm, capacities, frequencies, TC, etc. can be calibrated. And ..there is also a bench top version of it.

1 -The Insulation Resistance Option.

In this short video the functionality of the insulation resistance option using a Megger multifunction tester will be demonstrated. This video shows how easy calibrating insulation testers with the 1000 series is.

 

2 -  the Continuity Resistance Function.
All 1000 series units are fitted with the ability to output variable continuity resistance. This short video is showing how to verify the continuity function of a Megger multifunction tester.

Multi Degree of Freedom Vibration Testing Far Superior to Sequential Single Axis Testing in Precipitating Failures in Electronics

 

 

A recent study at the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland has shown that traditional sequential single-axial testing is inadequate, expensive, time consuming and provides misleading reliability predictions in comparison to simultaneous six degree of freedom testing.
Ed Habtour, principal investigator on the project at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory at the Vehicle Technology Directorate (ARL/VTD), said that test methods developed by ARL, U.S. Army Materiel Systems Activity Analysis, Aberdeen Test Center, the University of Maryland’s Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE), TEAM Corporation and Data Physics Corporation were conducted using the TEAM Tensor 900 six degrees of freedom (6-DoF) shaker, one of only three of its kind in the world. The objective is to develop high fidelity physics of failure (PoF) based reliability models. Habtour went on to say that discoveries from this breakthrough study could lead to changes in the way industry conducts vibration testing for cars, trucks and aircraft.
The project receives support from the industry-government consortium which sponsors this research at CALCE. “The consortium consists of leading electronics manufacturers and users from both military and commercial arenas,” explained Dr. Abhijit Dasgupta, professor at the University of Maryland’s CALCE.

 

 

Military electronic equipment must operate in harsh environments and military standards provide the guidance for vibration testing. Vibration testing is typically performed using sequential single axis tests in each of 3 orthogonal axes. The most recent revision of the military standard, Mil-Std-810G, for the first time, includes methods for simultaneous multi degree of freedom testing.
“One of the key challenges in re-creating life-cycle vibration conditions in the lab is the re-creation of simultaneous multi-axial excitation that components experience in the field, as seen in various complex dynamic loads, including shock and vibration,” described Habtour.
The Data Physics Matrix multishaker controller was used in this study to produce six degrees of freedom vibration – three translational and three rotational motions simultaneously. The Matrix controller offers a wide range of multi-degree of freedom vibration and shock testing capabilities including, random, sine, classical shock, shock response spectra, mixed mode (sine on random, random on random) and time waveform replication control.
